Description

Mantour (متنور) or Matthiola is the emblem of our Lebanese traditional gardens. Every house in the villages used to have a Matour plant, one of the first flowers to bloom in the spring.  And we all have  somewhere in the back of our minds the nostalgic song of Fayrouz  “Baadak ala bali”.

بعدك على بالي

طل و سألني اذا نيسان دق الباب
خبيت وجيي و طار البيت في و غاب
حبيت افتحلو عالحب اشرحلو
طليت ما لقيت غير الورد عند الباب
بعدك على بالي يا قمر الحلوين
يا زهرة بتشرين يا دهبي الغالي
بعدك على بابي يا حلو يا مغرور
يا حبق و منتور على سطح العالي
